Food Pantry & Community Supper
For the past 30 years, Brighton Allston Congregational Church has been serving the community with nutritious, balanced meals in a friendly environment. We do this through the Allston-Brighton Food Pantry, whose mission statement is "The Allston-Brighton Food Pantry provides nourishing food at no cost to members of the Allston Brighton community. We're dedicated to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere respectful to all community members without regard to race, religion, social position, ethnicity, gender, age or sexual orientation."
We serve dinner once per week, on Wednesday evening at 6:00. This dinner is open to everyone, free of charge, and no ID is required. We serve the dinner in the dining hall in the basement. If you come early, at 3:00, you can watch a movie upstairs before dinner with others.
We also have a twice-monthly distribution of food through the Allston Brighton Food Pantry for residents of Allston and Brighton. The food baskets are distributed here at the church at 404 Washington Street, Brighton Center, on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. In November, there is only one distribution, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. And in December, baskets are distributed on the second Saturday only. A complete list of dates and rules can be downloaded here in English, in Russian and in Spanish.
